The Best Outdoor Dining in Las Vegas

Posted by Maverick Helicopters on Sep 12, 2017 6:27:10 PM

Every year at about this time, the scorching desert heat begins to subside, and we begin to think about visiting our favorite outdoor dining establishments. In previous years’ posts, we’ve highlighted such favorites as Bellagio’s Picasso and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. Read on for some new favorites as well as some old standbys. Top-notch people watching, cool cocktails and sunny afternoons is a Vegas trio that ranks up there with the likes of Frank, Dean and Sammy or Siegfried, Roy and the tiger.

The Strip

The Park

Bliss Dance - The Best Outdoor Dining in Las VegasNo list of Las Vegas outdoor dining options is complete without The Park. MGM Resorts International’s latest contribution to the Strip, The Park is a $100 million outdoor entertainment district lined with hip bars and restaurants, all of which boast ample patio space for maximum outdoor revelry. The beer-and-bratwursts joint, Beerhaus, is sure to be rocking come October when the Vegas Golden Knights take the ice at T-Mobile Arena just steps away. Come for the local craft beers, stay for the oversized Jenga and table shuffleboard on the shaded patio. Next door, Bruxie’s gourmet chicken and waffle sandwiches are also worth a try. Before you leave, take a moment to snap some selfies in front of the many public art installations throughout The Park, such as Bliss Dance, the 40-foot-tall sculpture of a dancing woman.

Herringbone

A coastal California inspired menu paired with 5,500 square feet of patio, covered cabanas and lush gardens makes Herringbone the perfect choice for a late morning brunch in Las Vegas. For $59 a person, you can eat your fill of delectable menu items, such as orange ricotta chocolate chip pancakes and Kobe beef sliders, as well as offerings from the “Live Interactive Stations,” including the Salt Brine & Poke Bar, Kid-In-You Station and Bloody Mary Bar. The tremendous brunch service, one of the best in town, is available Saturdays and Sundays only starting at 10 a.m.

Jardin

Jardin - The Best Outdoor Dining in Las VegasJardin at Encore serves up fresh, seasonal cuisine that is “equal parts innovative and approachable” in a conservatory atmosphere set adjacent to the property’s beautiful gardens and pristine pools. Dine on vegetarian masterpieces like the truffle pizza topped with roasted mushrooms, ricotta cheese and poached egg or satisfy your meat tooth with a cooked-to-perfection, bone-in rib eye. The serene setting and creative cocktail menu will keep you lingering long after the meal is finished. Additionally, Encore offers “Dinner & Show Pairings.” Enjoy a three-course specialty menu and a drink along with a ticket to see the highly lauded Le Rêve later that evening.

Umami Burger

Umami Burger combined three of our favorite things: beer, burgers and sports betting. The often touted micro-chain’s latest location also features an outdoor beer garden along Las Vegas Boulevard, and sports fans will love the in-house sports book. Umami Burger might be the best place to watch a baseball game during an early fall afternoon. The restaurant’s comprehensive burger offerings are unmatched. These are most definitely knife-and-fork burgers, so come hungry. Strap on the feed bag and tear into a “manly burger” topped with house beer-cheddar, bacon lardons and onion rings. Wash it down with one or four of the craft brews found on the restaurant’s extensive tap menu.

Downtown

Carson Kitchen

Carson Kitchen - The Best Outdoor Dining in Las VegasA pioneer of the up and coming East Fremont neighborhood, this American cuisine-with-a-twist hot spot features swanky roof-top seating and clever alcoholic concoctions. Double down on the American cuisine classics by matching the “Devil’s” eggs topped with crispy pancetta and caviar with the beef belly sliders. The trendy eatery’s proximity to the popular local nightlife scene makes it easy to end your night out at one of the many hip bars on the block. Head a block north on Sixth Street for margaritas at La Comida.

Park on Fremont

This neighborhood bar with a “backyard” dining area sits on the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street. The quirkiness of the hip pub’s décor is matched only by its menu items. You can’t go wrong with unique bar bites such as mac + cheese balls and crispy brussels sprouts served with apples, honey glaze and chilied brown butter almonds. Wash it down with some Twig & Berries, made with Hendrick’s Gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime, seasonal berries and ginger beer. Psssst … there’s a secret, adult-size seesaw behind the patio’s rear wall … definitely Instagram worthy.
