How to Spend a Day Like a Vegas Golden Knight

Posted by Maverick Helicopters on Oct 7, 2018 10:30:00 AM

As the Vegas Golden Knights lace up their skates, and get ready for the second season, members of the VGK team have already embraced Las Vegas as their adoptive home.

In their initial year, many members of the Golden Knights had no idea what life in Las Vegas would be like, but a year later they've found their new home is much more than casinos and gambling. Discover these ideas on how you can spend a day like a Golden Knight:

ENJOY A NIGHT OUT

Jonathan Marchessault likes to enjoy an evening out with his wife. Whether it’s a delicious dinner, or a show at one of the many resorts on the Strip, Marchessault makes a night of it.

"You think of The Strip, you think of all the nightlife and everything but there's a lot more," Marchessault said. "There's actually a lot of people living here and the community where we live, it's unbelievable. The people are nice and respectful. I've been in a few cities in my career and (Las Vegas) is definitely one of the classiest places."

One of the best ways to experience the top restaurants on the Strip is with the Savory Bites and Neon Lights Tour. You'll experience VIP seating at four of the top restaurants in Las Vegas; 3-4 signature dishes at each restaurant; and a guided walking tour packed full of fun information between stops before enjoying a night flight over the Strip. Another option would be to skip dinner and spend the night soaring over Sin City on Maverick Helicopters Vegas Nights flight where you'll see stunning views aboard a "limousine" in the sky, the ECO-Star helicopter.

GET OUTDOORS

Some members of the Golden Knights like to stay low-key and spend time away from the famed Las Vegas Strip. Players like Cody Eakin have taken advantage of the outdoor fun that Vegas, and the surrounding areas, has to offer. From go-karting in the desert, to hiking and biking, the 27-year-old has said: “The opportunities are almost endless. I don’t think you can do them all in one season.”

One of the best ways to experience the great outdoors of Las Vegas is with a visit to the Grand Canyon. Maverick Helicopters offers many different options to explore the south or west rims of the Grand Canyon such as the Wind Dancer Tour. You’ll experience a helicopter flight with breathtaking views before descending 3,500 feet inside the Grand Canyon to enjoy the surroundings there. Max Pacioretty, left winger for VGK, recently joined Maverick Helicopters for a flight over his new home of Las Vegas.

TAKE IN A SHOW

Some of the younger players, like Shea Theodore and Alex Tuch, have capitalized on the featured shows and endless events that Sin City has to offer.

"The shows are unbelievable," Tuch said. "I've met a couple of the cast (members), I met Criss Angel, there are deejays and artists coming in and out of the city, so I've met a lot of cool people like that. The food is fantastic around here. And if you get away from the city you can play on some really nice golf courses too, which I like to do."

Maverick Helicopters and Cirque du Soleil combine two of Las Vegas’s most popular evening activities. Enjoy a Vegas Nights flight and a ticket to one of the most popular shows on the Strip, KÀ by Cirque du Soleil.

GO TO THE CITY NATIONAL ARENA

One of the best ways to experience a day like a Golden Knight is to visit the City National Arena and take in one of their practices. All practices are free and open to the public. The Golden Knights usually block off time from 10:00 am – 1:00pm on most days so fans can watch their favorites as they take to the ice. On home game-days the team holds a pre-game skate at City National Arena for about 30-45 minutes.

When it comes to the Vegas Golden Knights they're all different and in Las Vegas there's something for everyone to do what they enjoy most. But when we comes to the rink that's where the Vegas Golden Knights team becomes one.
