Grand Canyon Weddings.....Helicopter Charter Tours......West and South Rim Helicopter Tours
Travel To The Grand Canyon By Bus, Car Or Airplane. What's your choice?
n from Las Vegas. The answer depends on several things. Remember, the Grand Canyon is huge (277 miles long and up to 18 miles wide). Visitors can opt to visit its West, South or North Rims. The West Rim is the one that is closet to Las Vegas at 121 miles away. Although the South Rim is situated only 180 miles from Las Vegas, the highway distance is much greater. It’s actually 280 miles, which takes approximately six hours to drive. Similarly, the North Rim is located 275 miles from Las Vegas. So what’s the best way for you to get to the Grand Canyon? There are several considerations visitors should keep in mind. Which rim do you want to go to? How much vacation time do you have available? What are the costs involved with getting there? And how willing or able you are to drive long distances.
Below we’ll highlight the most popular ways to get to the Grand Canyon along with some of their benefits and drawbacks.
Which rim?
Here’s a little information to help you decide which Grand Canyon rim to visit:
The West Rim, which is home to the famous Skywalk glass bridge, is nearest to Las Vegas. It is not part of the Grand Canyon National Park but lies on the Hualapai Indian reservation. There are many scenic viewpoints and other activities in the area that include whitewater rafting, wagon rides and cultural demonstrations.
The North
Rim is far less crowded than the South Rim. Enhanced by extreme erosion, the views are thought to be better here. Many visitors who travel to the North Rim by car like to make a short detour and explore Zion National Park on the way. Note: The temperatures at the North Rim are 10 to 20 degrees cooler than those at the South Rim, and it is closed during the winter months due to snow. The South Rim and its visitor services and facilities are open year round. This is the most popular part of the Grand Canyon. The majority of the 5 million tourists who visit each year go here. There’s a free shuttle bus that provides transportation to a variety of overlooks as well as an easy mile-long trail that follows the rim. Plenty of options for accommodations are available in Grand Canyon Village, and visitors will enjoy the area’s historic landmarks, hiking opportunities and ranger-led programs.
Taking a Grand Canyon bus tour
Numerous bus tours are offered from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon South Rim. They are convenient, especially for those who can’t or don’t want to drive. Be aware, however, that on average this type of ground tour takes about 14 hours—during which you’ll only spend two to three hours at your Grand Canyon destination. This is due to the long drive that is required to get there.

Driving to the Grand Canyon yourself by car
Driving to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas allows you more flexibility and privacy than other travel options. Plus, you can visit whichever rim you desire. It tends to be most affordable for those who want to bring large families along and is best when you have a couple of vacation days at your disposal. However, you can make the journey from Las Vegas in one day. This requires an early start and enough energy to spend 12 hours or more (if stops are made for bathroom and food breaks) in transit. Depending on how long you stay at the Grand Canyon South Rim to check out viewpoints, hike and take photos at the overlooks, you should arrive back in Las Vegas by late evening.
Going via Grand Canyon plane or helicopter tour
Airplane transportation to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim and South Rim takes 20 and 40 minutes respectively—which is a huge time savings compared to the three- and six-hour drives required by bus or car. Surprisingly, this option is less expensive than you might expect, and it provides unique aerial viewing opportunities as well as increased sightseeing time at the Grand Canyon.
Maverick Airlines provides some wonderful opportunities for experiencing the Grand Canyon without the headache of driving yourself there. If you are interested in the South Rim and would like to enter the Grand Canyon National Park, check out the Grand Canyon Explorer package for $319 (all inclusive). Maybe you’ll want to add on a helicopter tour and enjoy the bird’s-eye perspective of this natural wonder as well? Maverick Airlines’ Canyon Dream package includes air transportation to and from the South Rim, an awe-inspiring 25-minute helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon and plenty of time for sightseeing by foot.
If you’d prefer the see the nearby West Rim, consider the Grand Canyon Western Territory tour. This magnificent package includ
es a stroll across the Skywalk, so you’ll have a chance to walk on air! It costs only $294 (all inclusive). Both Maverick Airlines and Maverick Helicopters offer numerous deals to visitors who want to travel to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. It’s worth your time to research these different options and pick the mode of transportation that allows you the longest stretch at the Grand Canyon—so you’ll have enough time to create memories that will last a lifetime!

Located at the West Rim of the Grand Canyon, it opened in March of 2007. Tourists have flocked to it ever since—with more than a million people visiting each year. So what exactly is the Skywalk? It’s a U-shaped walkway made of glass that extends 70 feet out from the Grand Canyon’s rim and sits about 4,000 feet above the raging Colorado River.

When the snow pack turns to mud and roads become impossible to maneuver once again, the company expects to help with additional drops as necessary.
“When we were called on, we knew we had to help,” said Brian Brusa, Maverick Helicopters manager. “This is our community too. We will continue to help the residents of Cameron, Arizona as long as they need us.”

How To Get Around In Las Vegas
Once you’ve booked your flight to Las Vegas, you still have important transportation decisions to make—mainly figuring out how you will get around the ever-bustling Entertainment Capital of the World. Unfortunately, the city’s public transport system is nowhere near as comprehensive as the one in London. But if you want to avoid hiring a car, you can manage quite well with what’s available. In fact, you’ll find there are many different ways to explore Las Vegas by ground—and by air. So here’s some information to help you plan out your transportation before you arrive.Going to and from the Airport
Most flights land at McCarran International Airport, which is located near the Strip. It’s one of the busiest airports in the world. McCarran International Airport is comprised of two terminals. Domestic flights arrive at Terminal 1, and international flights—such as those operated by Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and bmi—arrive at Terminal 2. There are several companies that offer transportation to and from the airport. They are located outside the baggage claim area at Terminal 1. Bell Trans, CLS, Gray Line/Coach USA and Showtime all provide shuttles that go to the Strip and Downtown Las Vegas for less than $10. There is also a taxi queue. The fare is $3.30 for the first mile, plus $2.40 for each additional mile and $0.20 for every 24 seconds of waiting. You can have up to five passengers for no additional charge, but there’s a $1.80 fee for every fare originating at the airport. Another option is to rent a limousine. The cost is not as high as you might imagine. The hourly fee for a basic sedan limo starts at $39. And, if you do decide you’d like to hire a care, there’s a free shuttle bus that will take you to the McCarran Rent-a-Car Center, which is home to 12 major car rental companies. It departs every five minutes.
Getting Around by Ground
Aside from walking, you have six options for ground transportation in Las Vegas—bus, trolley, taxi, limousine, monorail and rental car.
Bus
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada operates several bus systems in Las Vegas. CAT (Citizens Area Transit) covers the greater Las Vegas valley. The gold double-decker Deuce, reminiscent of London’s red buses, operates along the Strip 24 hours a day with stops at most of the city’s major resorts. The ACE Rapid Transit System is being launched in early 2010 to provide quick connections between Downtown Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Strip. For routes, schedules and fares, call 001-800-228-3911 or visit rtcsouthernnevada.com.
Trolley
The Las Vegas Strip Trolley provides hop-on, hop-off sightseeing travel along the Strip and beyond. It has stops at all the major hotels and goes as far south as the Silverton. There are also routes that will take you to Downtown Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Convention Center and Hard Rock Hotel. Riding in the Las Vegas Strip Trolley’s colourful coach with its brass fixtures, park lighting and wooden benches is a unique experience. For schedules and rates, call 001-877-332-8689 or visit lasvegasstriptrolley.com.

Monorail
The Las Vegas Monorail provides a quick, easy and affordable way for visitors to travel along the east side of the Strip in air-conditioned comfort. It’s a state-of-the-art, automated rail system that runs above the city’s streets between the MGM Grand and the Sahara hotel. It has seven centrally located stations, many of which are found at major resorts. There is also a station at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Las Vegas Monorail runs Mon.-Thur. from 7.00-2.00 and Fri.-Sun. from 7.00-3.00. A single ride ticket is $5 and an all-day pass is $14. Call 001-702-699-8200 or visit lvmonorail.com.
Limousine
Hiring a limousine for a cruise down the Strip or a night on the town will add special memories to your Las Vegas visit. You can select from town cars, sedans, limos, stretch Cadillac Escalades, SUVs, Hummers or—if you are travelling with a big group—limousine buses. However, if you’d like to widen your horizons and explore Southern Nevada and the stunning Southwest, you should consider air transportation options. Maverick Helicopters tour company, a popular air sightseeing attraction based in Las Vegas, has a strong 15-year history of showing visitors the best of the region. Not only do they have an impressive list of helicopter tour packages covering Las Vegas Strip and the West and South Rims' tours of the Grand Canyon, but they can also create a special helicopter charter itinerary to whisk you anywhere you’d like to go—whether it be for a round of golf, a wine tour or a hike in Utah’s Bryce Canyon. What Lies Outside Las Vegas? Coming From The U.K. Or The U.S. We Have Helpful Tips
Las Vegas buzzes day and night with excitement and energy. However, there’s more to Southern Nevada than the Las Vegas Neon Strip and Glitter Gulch. Like London and its multicultural outlying districts, you’ll find several historic cities and natural attractions around Las Vegas to explore—all of which have their own distinct atmosphere. Here’s an introduction to a few nearby points on our compass. If you’d like to visit them and don’t want to drive, Maverick Helicopter Tours will gladly arrange a charter flight for you.
CityBoulder City is just a few kilometres from Hoover Dam, the historic manmade creation that tamed the raging Colorado River. Boulder City was built in the 1930s to house the dam’s construction workers and their families. Today, it still offers a pleasant, small-town vibe. There are two golf courses and several lovely parks that host annual art festivals. Boulder City’s main street, which is situated along Nevada Highway, is also a wonderful place to stroll. You’ll find many shops offering Native American jewellery, as well as a brewery, diner and wine bar.
Henderson
Henderson is Las Vegas’ next-door neighbour. It’s beginnings date back to Hoover Dam, when an overflow of workers from Boulder City arrived in area. The city was officially founded in 1941 as an industrial town housing employees from the Basic Magnesium plant. Today, Henderson boasts a population of more than 250,000 people, and it’s got an abundance of beautiful parks, trails, golf courses and other recreational facilities. Visitors should explore the Old Town area on Water Street, which has become a thriving arts district. Other attractions include the Veterans wall, the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve and the Galleria at Sunset shopping centre.

Pahrump
Pahrump is one of Southern Nevada’s fastest growing rural cities. It’s located about 95 kilometres from Las Vegas. Most people know it as being the home of the infamous Chicken Ranch brothel, but the area also features casinos, parks, shops and restaurants. The most popular attraction is the Pahrump Valley Winery, which is Nevada’s only winery. Opened in 1990, the facility currently produces nine fine wines. You can take a tour of the grounds, sample wine at the tasting bar and enjoy a gourmet lunch or dinner in Symphony’s Restaurant.
The Lake Mead National Recreational Area is just 40 kilometres southeast of Las Vegas. Known for being North America’s largest manmade lake, it was created by the engineering wonder Hoover Dam. Lake Mead boasts more than 880 kilometres of shoreline, which makes it a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts who want to enjoy watery pleasures—like swimming, water skiing, jet skiing, boating and fishing—in the middle of the desert.
Mount Charleston
Mount Charleston is only 56 kilometres from Las Vegas. On average its temperatures are about 10°C lower than in Las Vegas. There are gorgeous ponderosa pines and fir trees wherever the eye can see. The highest elevation at Mount Charleston is 3,615 metres. The area is perfect for skiing in winter and for picnicking and hiking during the rest of the year. You can also enjoy a meal or a steaming cup of hot chocolate in the rustic, lodge-style Mount Charleston Hotel.

Red Rock Canyon
Red Rock Canyon is just 24 kilometres west of Las Vegas. About 65 million years ago a fault thrust limestone and sandstone over each other—producing the scenic rock formations the area is best known for. It’s a popular place for hiking and rock climbing year round. At the visitors centre, you can see a desert tortoise habitat. Red Rock Canyon is also home to wild burros, bighorn sheep and coyotes.
Spring Mountain Ranch
Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is situated at the base of Wilson Cliffs about 48 kilometres west of Las Vegas. The historic New England-style ranch house was a stopover for travellers on the Mormon and Spanish trails. You can explore the old buildings and picnic on the grassy meadow. Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is also the site of outdoor theatre productions and concerts.
Valley of Fire
The Valley of Fire State Park became Nevada’s first state park in 1935. It is only 88 kilometres northwest of Las Vegas. You’ll discover a marvel of scenic landscapes and rock formations comprised of eroded red sandstone there. Hikers can explore hidden canyons, and history buffs will enjoy viewing the petroglyphs. If you are interested in seeing the beautiful red rock formations and the Grand Canyon Maverick has a wonderful combination tour, Dream Catcher Sunset Helicopter tour.

wonders. It was carved over millions of years by the Colorado River. Interestingly, the Grand Canyon is not just one canyon but a series of canyons surrounding a central gorge that measure 1.6 kilometres deep and 445 kilometres long. There are three rims you can visit. The South Rim is the most popular among tourists, while the North Rim has cooler temperatures and is less accessible due to snow in winter. The West Rim, also called Grand Canyon West, is a destination owned by the Hualapai Tribe. It features the modern-day engineering marvel of the Skywalk glass bridge, which is suspended more than 4,000 feet above the canyon's floor. You may want to plan a Grand Canyon helicopter tour to see the rim and walk the glass bridge. For our visitors coming from the United Kingdom we hope you find this information useful to plan the perfect Las Vegas vacation. Maverick Helicopters tours wants to provide you with helpful tips to make your experience unforgettable.
My Grandfather And The Grand Canyon
My Maverick Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour Experience
I was one of those youngsters that was always looking through the National Geographic Magazine that my grandfather faithfully read from cover to cover. Though he very rarely left the small village in upstate
I vividly remember his fascination with the Grand Canyon and was amazed at how he could recite so many statistics. So when I had a chance to visit the Grand Canyon during a Maverick Helicopter tour in
If you get a chance to experience the Grand Canyon South rim (I believe Maverick Helicopter tours has a site there also) the dramatic views into the deep inner gorge are awe inspiring. Since the Grand Canyon is a mile deep and 18 miles wide , a scale so vast that even from the best vantage point a fraction of the Canyon’s 277 miles can be seen a Maverick helicopter tour would be a GREAT choice.
So don't wait book a Maverick Grand Canyon tour and see for yourself . It’s very easy, choose the tour you want and check in .The staff is very helpful and friendly. When you arrive for your tour you will meet you pilot and he will escort you to his “heli” and review the do's and don’ts then you’re on your way. I was surprised at the altitude and the speed we flew but I never felt uneasy once. We each wore headphones so we could hear everyone’s conversation, including the pilots. Our pilot /tour guide kept us interested in the incredible views and provided updates on the construction of the
The Grand Canyon is certainly a very spiritual place to behold. Even though my grandfather has long passed I knew he was experiencing the wonder with me.Thank you Maverick Helicopter Tours for helping me remember all those special memories, past and present.

A Maverick Flyer
A Grand Canyon Helicopter Experience Added To The Bucket List
The New Year is now in full gear. With a decade recently passed and 2010 just beginning, it’s the perfect time not only for reflection, but also to look forward and make some dream plans.

Do you remember the movie The Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman? Two terminally ill men decided to go on the road trip of a lifetime. They made a checklist of everything they’d ever wanted to do in order to live their lives to the fullest before “kicking the bucket.”
If you were to create your own bucket list, what would it include? Many people dream about seeing the “Seven Wonders of the World.” Carved by the raging Colorado River, the Grand Canyon is among them and conveniently situated in Arizona. At a mile deep and up to 10 miles wide, it’s unfathomably enormous. Flying in a helicopter above the Grand Canyon or just standing on one of its rims offers some of the most spectacular views on Earth. The scenery is so exhilarating that you’ll never be able to adequately describe it…and you’ll never forget it. There’s simply no other place in the world that looks quite like the Grand Canyon.
If a visit to the Grand Canyon isn’t on your bucket list, it should be—and Maverick Helicopter Tours can help you check it off. The popular air sightseeing company, which has terminals in Las Vegas and at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, offers a variety of adventures.

Imagine walking on a glass bridge suspended high above the Grand Canyon’s floor. You’ll have the chance to do this after being flown by helicopter to the West Rim, where you’ll be escorted to dramatic viewpoints and learn about the Hualapai Indian tribe. This is all part of the Indian Territory tour package. Or picture this—after traveling by luxury jet to the South Rim, you’ll board a helicopter for a breathtaking flight above the canyon and then be shuttled to the Grand Canyon National Park, where you can stroll along the Rim Trail at a leisurely pace. This is offered in the Canyon Dream tour package. There are other great tour experiences to choose from as well.
So what are you waiting for? Take the trek to the Grand Canyon with Maverick Helicopters Tours and start 2010 off by doing something that will make you feel giddy and excited and give your life a whole new meaning!

My Grand Canyon South Rim Helicopter Tour with Maverick
Upon our arrival at the Maverick Helicopters terminal at the Grand Canyon airport, we were greeted warmly by the staff and quickly checked in for our flight. As we waited patiently for our pilot, we browsed the gift shop, enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace and took in the beautiful scenery outside the windows. My son, being 20 months old, was wanting to explore every corner of the waiting area and all the employees were very kind to his curiosity.
Our pilot, Bryce, came and called us all by name and then took us out the the helicopter waiting for us outside. After the safety briefing, each group took pictures with him in front of the Maverick helicopter. Then he sat us according to the weight and balance of the aircraft and with my child on my lap that added a good 25 pounds to my weight.
As we departed the Grand Canyon airport, the scenery of the South Rim came into clear view... trees for as long as we could see and the canyon in the distance. I wonder where the canyon could be hiding?! Going over the Kaibab Forest and
even seeing wild bison was beyond anything I could imagine. At this point I can see the Grand Canyon off to our left side and I keep anticipating us flying over it. Less than a minute later, Bryce said that it was the moment we were waiting for and just then the rim dropped from below us and we all were shocked at the sight and the feeling of the ground disappearing beneath us! By far the best part of the South Rim tour though! As we snaked through the canyon we were able to see the Colorado River flowing and amazing rock formations. Being that the Grand Canyon South Rim tour was in December, snow lightly dusted the
canyon to make it truly picturesque. As we traveled up through the canyon, we were able to also fly over the North Rim which according to our pilot, Bryce, only receives about 5,000 visitors a year compared to the 5 million the South Rim gets. That is due to the inaccessibility and the weather closures it experiences every year. As we returned to the Grand Canyon airport we marveled at the sights that continued to amaze us. Thankfully we have wonderful pictures to remember our flight by. Maverick Helicopters also has DVDs of our personal flight that we can purchase which we picked up as well.
I will definitely recommend Maverick Helicopters to anyone visiting the Grand Canyon. This is by far the best helicopter tour that I have ever taken and will remember for a lifetime.

Top 10 Things To Do at the Grand Canyon
There are many ways to experience the Grand Canyon South Rim and while individual desires, time and season play a role in what activities you will do, the experience will be
one to remember. Whether you choose to hike, take a mule ride or a scenic helicopter tour, you will have wonderful memories to take with you. At Maverick, we often are asked about other points of interest besides our South Rim tours that they can do during their visit. We have compiled a list of what we consider our top 10 activities at the Grand Canyon.
- Maverick Helicopter tour. We offer 2 helicopter tours that depart the Grand Canyon Airport. One is 25-30 minutes long and the other is 45-50 minutes long. Depending on your schedule for your stay, you will be able to accommodate it with one of these two tours that takes you over the Grand Canyon scenery.
- Bright Angel Trail. A wonderful hike that you can tailor to your abilities and desires. The length of the trail is just over 12 miles and it is not suggested that you do that in one day.
- Grand Canyon Village. Cute shops and restaurants populate this area.
- Mather Point. This is the most popular vantage point for the Grand Canyon. Located closest to the park entrance and right off the main road, Mather Point is very convenient.
- Grand Canyon Deer Farm. Kids will especially enjoy this farm and petting zoo. 40 years old this farm features dozens of deer that you can pet and feed as well as buffalo, a pot-bellied pig, peacocks and llamas. Miniature horses, donkeys, and goats also road the farm.
- Grand Canyon Railway. The train departs from Williams, Arizona and takes a scenic tour to the Grand Canyon and is complete with a staged hold-up of the train as well as song and story about the history of the Grand Canyon. The Polar Express is quite popular during the holiday season.
- Grand Canyon Rim Drive. Relax and take in the views of the Grand Canyon as you take this scenic drive around the rim.
- Phantom Ranch. Situated at the bottom of the canyon, this rustic complex features cabins and dorms made of native stone and wood. Reservations are required and are often booked years in advance for popular dates.
- Yavapai Point and Observation Station. Offering some of the most spectacular views of the inner canyon, as well as the Colorado River and Bright Angel Canyon. Check out the observation station, where exhibits explain the geological process that formed the canyon.
- Desert View and Watchtower. Featuring a restaurant, general store and service station. The highlight is the watchtower that was built in 1932. Great views of the canyon can be viewed from here.
MAVERICK AND ME
I remember meeting the President and owner for the first time. He was personally visiting the vendors that were selling Maverick Helicopters which included the Grand Canyon tours, Las Vegas Strip tours, charters and groups. I was very impressed that he took the time to personally meet and speak with the tour vendors. While I sold many different tour companies I believe he was the only owner that took the time and effort to introduce himself and talk about his company with me. To this day, he still makes visits on the strip.
At the time I was hired there were approximately 50 employees and today our company has over 160.
When the opportunity came for a change and with a company that I knew very well had a first class reputation, I jumped at the chance to expand my horizons. I was hired and quickly moved into the position of Wedding and Sales Coordinator.
At the time I was hired the Maverick fleet consisted of 6 Astar and 7 Ecostar helicopters at the Maverick's original terminal on the strip. Today, Maverick Helicopters has three terminal locations, the original location at McCarron International Airport on the Las Vegas strip, the south valley location at the Henderson airport and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Besides the three locations we now have a fleet of 35 Ecostar (EC130) helicopters, the largest in the world, and 2 Beecraft 1900 aircrafts.
The President's vision for the tourism industry which includes the Grand Canyon and other famous National Park areas is unprecedented in the helicopter tour industry in Las Vegas. Today Maverick Helicopters is the largest Grand Canyon tour operator in the world offering the youngest fleet of helicopters. Five years ago when I joined Maverick we were flying approximately 50,000 passengers annually and today we are flying over 200,000.
The number of flights and helicopter packages offered by Maverick Helicopters includes flights to the Grand Canyon every hour on the hour from sunrise to sunset which includes fly-overs of the Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Charters can be arranged for any locations in the southwest including all the canyon lands and national parks in Utah, Arizona and California. If you just need transportation that can be arranged also.
My specialty, of course, is the dramatic and adventureous Grand Canyon helicopter weddings, Valley of Fire weddings and the fun and memorable wedding over the night lights of the Las Vegas Strip. Beginning the first of the year Maverick Helicopter will be offering a new wedding adventure "Twilight over Vegas" with extended flight time over the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Look for details on our website January 1, 2010.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR YOUR GRAND CANYON OR VALLEY OF FIRE HELICOPTER WEDDING
Maverick Helicopters takes pride in knowing we can offer the best and most adventurous helicopter wedding packages offered in the Las Vegas area and here is some information you might find helpful.
First of all, why choose Maverick Helicopters for this very important day in your life? I am Maverick's in-house wedding coordinator and my only job is to make sure our brides and grooms get the service and help they need and expect for the perfect wedding day. I personally will plan your wedding experience from start to finish, from the first contact to the time the limousine drives you back to your honeymoon destination.
Which destination would you choose, the Grand Canyon helicopter wedding or the Valley of Fire wedding? By far, the Grand Canyon Sunset helicopter package is the most popular. Your landing site is 3,500 feet below the rim and you will enjoy the sunset on your return flight and the lights of the strip will be on when you enter the Las Vegas valley. Personally, my favorite wedding site is the Valley of Fire because of the incredible wedding photos with the brilliant red rock scenery in the background. It has a very different feeling from the Grand Canyon in that your private helicopter will land on a plateau that overlooks the whole valley.....but it isn't the Grand Canyon. So, why not enjoy both. Our top of the line helicopter wedding package is called the Sunset Brilliance and it includes a flight over the Grand Canyon with the landing site at the Valley of Fire. The Valley of Fire offers only one landing site so their is no other air traffic landing or departing so you will get a much more private feeling at this location.
We also offer a fun and memoriable Vegas Nights Helicopter wedding over the Las Vegas strip for the more time and budget minded wedding party.
Now that you have chosen either the Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire or Las Vegas strip helicopter wedding package here are a few other considerations for you to think about.
What to Wear? The majority of my brides and grooms do choose the traditional wedding attire, the white wedding dress and tux. When planning your bridal wear keep in mind of the temperature at the landing site. For both the Grand Canyon wedding and Valley of Fire wedding, the temperature will be approximately five degrees different from the Las Vegas temperature. Five degrees hotter in the summer and five degrees cooler in the winter. I always advise a jacket or cover up through late fall and early spring. I would suggest the wedding dress not include a full skirt as it can be cumbersome in the helicopter. I have experienced wedding parties with everything from the full formal wedding attire to shorts and baseball caps......BE COMFORTABLE.
What shoes to wear? The ground for the Grand Canyon wedding is very rocky so I would not recommend stilettos. A more conventonal shoe would be appropriate. While the Valley of Fire is not as rocky you could be a little more adventurous with your footwear. Grooms.....you are so lucky.
What hair style? You will be wearing a headset on your flight. This is how the pilot and wedding guests communicate. The headset does fit over your head. Also, considering the weather at the Grand Canyon and Valley of Fire is important as it can be breezy and you wouldn't want your hair in your face for your photos.
Of course, I have learned to expect the unexpected and these are just suggestions. My wedding parties are always unique and set their own style for their special day.
Can the package be customized? Yes, a few of the requests have been customized bouquets with your favorite color or flowers, your favorite champagne, Elvis, a guitarist and a videographer.
