Visiting the Grand Canyon - A Few Points of Interest

You've only seen pictures of the Grand Canyon and the anticipation of seeing it up close overwhelms you. Experiencing the mighty Colorado River or touching the canyon walls will awaken all or your senses. With so much to see and do, here are a couple points of interest.
Above the Rim - heading from the north rim to the south rim of the Grand Canyon you will come upon many visual treasures. Trails will lead you to historical houses, depots and lodges of early settlers and Native Americans.
Here are a few of those treasures:
Santa Fe Train Depot - One of the only LOG train depots left standing in the U.S., this depot marks the northern end of the Grand Canyon Railway.
Tusayan Ruin - An ancient Puebloean village excavated by archaeologists, this ruin offers a look into the life of some of the earliest people to inhabit the amazing Grand Canyon.
Zoroaster Temple - a unique rock formation seen from Hopi Pointe named for a Persian prophet.
Below the Rim - Okay, so how do I get down there? Here are a few choices; walking -- or how about a mule ride (not sure about the mule). What about seeing the Grand canyon via helicopter! Maverick Helicopter Tours are awesome and there are lots of options to choose from, so it's definitely worth checking them out.By far the most popular way to get below the rim is by taking one of those famous hikes. Here are a few things to remember if hiking is your thing. There are lots of beautiful trails but not all of them reach the bottom. Know your ability, a one day hike in and out is not advised. While you are at the bottom check out Phantom Ranch - designed by frontier woman Mary Colter, at this site remnants have been found dating back to 1050.
Your Grand Canyon Vacation awaits you--- wondrous and fascinating,a dream come true!
